Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib—also known as Baoli Sahib—marks the spot where Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji stayed overnight while journeying on the historic GT Road (Sher Shah Suri Marg) near modern-day Ambala City
At the time, the nearby village of KhurrampurMajri faced severe water scarcity. Guru Hargobind encouraged Sikhs to help locals dig a baoli (step-well), which was completed by his return, inspiring great joy
The historical baoli still exists within the complex, and devotees commonly take Amrit from its water during visits
The current gurdwara structure, featuring a three storey gateway flanked by domed towers and a spacious hall, was rebuilt by Maharaja Hira Singh of Nabha in the early 20th century; further major renovations occurred post 1947
